PRIVACY POLICY
This policy explains how we handle your personal information. It covers this website, fantasycaravan.com.au, and the Fantasy Club app and members’ area at club.fantasycaravan.com.au.
The sections immediately below describe this website. The app is dealt with separately under The Fantasy Club App, and where that section differs from the rest of this policy, that section governs.

Additionally when you submit a contact form make an enquiry or attempt to request a brochure through our website, we collect certain information from you, including your name, postcode, email address, and phone number.
How do we use your personal information?
We use the Personal Information that we collect generally to fulfill any enquiry placed through the website (including managing contact forms, arranging inspection and sending brochures through email). Additionally, we use this Personal Information to:
– Communicate with you;
– Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
– When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
– The website uses a session-recording / analytics tool (such as Microsoft Clarity) to monitor and improve site performance
– Some data may be processed by Microsoft on servers located outside Australia
– Sensitive information entered into forms (e.g. names, contact details, finance information) is automatically masked and not included in recordings
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
Where we send your data?
We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Google Analytics to help us understand how our customers use our website. You can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. Data retention
We keep the information you send us through this website — for example the name, postcode, email address and phone number you give us in an enquiry or a brochure request — for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry and any ongoing relationship with you, unless you ask us to delete it. Retention of Fantasy Club app data is dealt with in section 6 of The Fantasy Club App.
What rights you have over your data?
You may ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or to delete it. This does not include any information we are required to keep for administrative, legal or security reasons. For a Fantasy Club account, see sections 6 and 7 of The Fantasy Club App.
The Fantasy Club App
This section applies to the Fantasy Club app and club.fantasycaravan.com.au, the members’ area for people who have bought a Fantasy Caravan. Where it differs from the rest of this policy, this section governs. In particular: the app contains no advertising, and we use no analytics, advertising-tracking or profiling tools of our own in it. The “Behavioural advertising” section above, and the Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity tools named under “Where we send your data”, describe this website only. Neither is present in the app.
1. What we hold
Your account. Your name, your email address, and your phone number if you give us one. Your password is stored only as a cryptographic hash; we never hold the password itself and cannot recover it.
Your caravans. The chassis number (VIN) of each caravan on your account, when it was added, and how it came to be there. This is what decides which caravans you can see.
Your sign-in sessions. A hashed session token, a device label your phone reports such as “iPhone”, an approximate location — city and state only — worked out from the IP address you signed in from, and when the session was created, last used and expires. We show these to you in the app so that you can recognise a session that is not yours and end it. We do not use your device’s GPS or precise location, and the app never asks for location permission. Sessions last up to 180 days.
What you record yourself. The trips you log — odometer readings, the distance between them, and any description you add — and the service records you mark complete, with their date, odometer reading and notes.
Ownership transfers. If you transfer a caravan to someone else, the name and email address you give us for them, the status of the transfer, and the times each step was taken. The confirmation codes and links used in that process are stored only as hashes.
Server logs. Our servers record the IP address, the browser or app identifier, the address requested and the time, for security and fault diagnosis. These are kept for 14 days and are not used to build a profile of you.
We hold no payment details of any kind. The app has no payments in it.
2. Where it comes from
Your account is created from the invitation link in your purchase contract email; there is no public sign-up. Everything in section 1 comes from you or is generated by the service as you use it.
Information about the caravan itself — how it was built, where it is in production, when it was handed over, and who sold it — is held in our production systems. The app reads it only for the caravans on your account, and does not copy it into the club’s own database.
3. What we use it for
To sign you in and keep you signed in; to decide which caravans you may see; to show you your caravan’s build, configuration and progress; to keep the mileage and service records you enter; to run ownership transfers; and to send you the emails the service must send — password resets, transfer confirmations and account notices.
That is all. There is no advertising in this app. We use no analytics, tracking, profiling or advertising tools of our own in it, and we do not sell, rent or trade your information.
4. Who else is involved
We use the following service providers, and disclose to them only what the service requires:
– Amazon Web Services — our application servers (Sydney, ap-southeast-2) and Amazon Simple Email Service (Sydney, ap-southeast-2), which delivers our email and therefore receives the recipient address and the message.
– Supabase — hosts the database described in section 1, in its Sydney region (ap-southeast-2).
– Expo — distributes app updates. When the app starts it asks Expo’s update service whether a newer version exists, sending the platform, the app’s runtime version and release channel, and your device’s IP address. No account information is sent.
– Cloudflare — sits in front of our servers and supplies the approximate location (country, city and state) of the IP address a request comes from.
– GeoJS — queried only on the occasions when Cloudflare does not supply a location. It receives the IP address and returns the city and state, and nothing about your account.
One kind of content is played from a third party when you choose to open it. Handover and tutorial videos play through YouTube (Google), which then receives your IP address, device and browser information, and which video you opened. We use the youtube-nocookie.com player, which does not set advertising cookies.
Product information, images and component manuals are loaded from our own website, fantasycaravan.com.au, and carry nothing about your account.
Overseas disclosure. Our own systems — the application servers, the database and the email service — are all in Sydney, so everything described in section 1 is stored in Australia. Four services we do not operate are also involved:
– Expo receives the update-check details described above, and is operated from the United States.
– YouTube (Google) receives your IP address and which video you opened, when you choose to play one, and is operated from the United States.
– Cloudflare processes the IP address of every request as it reaches our servers, over a global network that includes servers outside Australia.
– GeoJS receives an IP address on the occasions it is asked for a location. It does not publish where its servers are located, so that IP address may be processed outside Australia.
5. How we protect it
All traffic between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Passwords are stored as scrypt hashes; session tokens and confirmation codes are stored only as hashes, so a copy of our database would not yield a working credential. On your phone the session token is kept in the device keychain. Access to the database is limited to the staff who need it.
6. Keeping it, and deleting it
You can delete your account from the app under Account, or at club.fantasycaravan.com.au/account/manage without installing anything. We confirm the request with a code sent to your email address, then hold the account for seven days, during which you can cancel from the same page. After that we permanently delete your account, its link to your caravans, and the mileage and service records you entered.
One record outlives the account. We keep a log of when each caravan changed hands. It is kept against the caravan’s chassis number rather than against you, so that a caravan’s history stays intact for whoever owns it next. It records that a change happened and when; the account it referred to no longer exists.
7. Getting at it, and correcting it
You can change your name and phone number in the app at any time. Your email address is the one your invitation was sent to and is changed by asking us, so that an account cannot be moved to another address without a person checking. You may ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, using the contact below.
8. Complaints
Write to us at it@fantasycaravan.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
9. Children
The club is for people who have purchased a caravan. The app is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
